Habitree – 15.02.2024
Quantified turned into my first actual digital product - Habitree! I am very excited to have published it to the App Store last week. Of course, it ended up being very different from what I imagined at the start, but I guess that is to be expected. My biggest learning right now is that figuring out the one thing your application is supposed to do is much harder and much more important than I expected it to be. Habitree has a journal and a time tracker. In hindsight, I should have perfected the time tracking instead of implementing a journal too early.
Quantified – 24.10.2023
I am collecting a lot of data about myself – I have an Oura ring, I track my nutrition, but most importantly, I track my time. Since all time tracking tools I have found are built for the workplace, I used a spreadsheet and a stopwatch app – which sucks. So, I started building an app that serves as a data lake and analytics tool using React Native and Rails. The first features are time tracking and journaling, but health data is planned to be implemented down the line. On top of that, I’d like to train a sort of ’personal coach’ on all the data I am collecting.
Writing – 26.06.2023
For a long time, I wanted to produce content that would capture what I am learning about at the moment so that I and other people could benefit from it in the future. After a failed attempt at trying to produce videos in 2022 (which was idiotic because I have no affinity for videography whatsoever), I finally discovered blogs (see WBW, probably my favorite one) as a form of media.
Computer science and neuroscience – 26.06.2023
Right now, I am studying Computer Science with the goal of doing a master’s in computational neuroscience next year. It’s obvious that intelligence is the most powerful trait in the known universe, and therefore also potentially the most impactful one. To me, that makes it the most interesting as well. As of today, the human brain is the most intelligent system in the universe as far as we know, which is why I’d like to study it.
Wildnisschule Wurzelholz – 01.09.2022
I founded a company with my mum – exciting! She has been teaching people the art of surviving outdoors and the teachings of indigenous tribes for living in harmony with yourself and nature for almost two decades now. I encouraged her to do it independently, and now I am trying to make that thing work. Let’s see where it takes us.
